Daddy's girl! Dakota Johnson steals the limelight from dad Don as he takes her to the Django Unchained premiere

A lot of famous offspring find it hard to step out of their parents' shadows.
But Dakota Johnson appears to have no such issues as she stole the limelight from her famous actor father, former Miami Vice star Don Johnson.
The 22-year-old actress, whose mother is Hollywood star Melanie Griffith, was her father's date to the opening of the new Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained, at the Zeigfeld Theatre in New York on Tuesday night.
Johnson, stars in the film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx.

She might not be in the film, but she made sure that all eyes were on her as she showed up in an stand-out red dress.

 

The actress, whose career kick-started recently after she bagged the lead role in Fox sitcom Ben and Kate, looked modest but stylish in the knee-length outfit.
Wearing her blonde hair tied back in a high ponytail, with wisps falling around her face, Dakota manged to pull off a glamorous but casual look.

She added a pair of thick, black tights and modest black heels to complete her laid back, stylish look, and wore a splash of bright red lipstick to match her dress.
Keeping the rest of her make-up minimal and adding a just a simple gold watch to her wrist, the actress made sure that all of the emphasis was on the bright colour.
Although she clearly wanted to stand out in her own right, Dakota kept close to her dapper looking dad, posing for photos with him on the red carpet.

The Miami Vice actor, who stars in the eagerly anticipated new Tarantino film about a slave turned bounty hunter, was suave in a black suit and tie, paired with a checked shirt.
The father and daughter were joined on the red carpet by Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson, Jamie Foxx and Uma Thurman.
Django Unchained is slated to hit U.S. theatres on Christmas Day.
