Just an ordinary family fun day: Nicolas Cage treats sons Weston, 22, and Kal-El, seven, to a festive day out at Disneyland

They may not be the most straight-laced of families, after having gone through more than their fair share of drama in the past year alone.
But Nicolas Cage and his sons looked like any other group of relatives as they stepped out for a day of fun at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, on Thursday.
Beaming from ear-to-ear, the 48-year-old actor seemed happy and relaxed as he strolled around the famed theme park with his sons, Weston, 22, and Kal-El, seven.

The group were accompanied by a mystery woman, who by the looks of things was Weston's new girlfriend, with the pair holding hands intimately as they wandered through the attractions.

 

Sharing a joke with her new beau's Hollywood actor father, the brunette seemed to be getting on famously with Cage.
And even little Kal-El - the star's son from his marriage to third wife Alice Kim, seemed to be smitten with the family's guest, grinning away happily as she patted him chummily on the shoulder.

The group were likely celebrating Weston's 22nd birthday, which fell on Wednesday, with their fun outing.
Cage immersed himself in his dad role for the day, dressing in a casual plum-coloured polo shirt, dark jeans and trainers, while carrying a pretend sword around with him.
Meanwhile, Weston - the star's son with actress Christina Fulton - adopted his typically grungy style in a black zip-detail jacket and matching trousers.
The family day out was perhaps a spot of respite after what has been a somewhat difficult 18 months for black metal singer Weston.

In July 2011, he married South African singer Nikki Williams in New Orleans, Louisiana, only for the couple to have divorced by the end of the year.
Weston was charged with domestic violence twice during the brief marriage and subsequent attempts at reconciliation.
Weston is Cage's son from his previous marriage to Christina Fulton and appeared in the actor's film Lord of War as Vladimir, a young Ukrainian mechanic.
The pair also created a comic together called Voodoo Child, which was published by Virgin Comics.
