What a difference!Shameless star Emmy Rossum is transformed as she shows off her singing skills at glitzy event

For her role in Shameless she goes make-up free and wears her hair tied back.
But Emmy Rossum couldn't have looked more glamorous as she hosted an event in New York on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old actress is also a singer-songwriter and was previewing some of her songs at the special event.

The star - who is 6lbs lighter than usual - looked lean in green as she attended the Manhattan Magazine bash held in her honour, a party which saw her show off her vocal skills on the microphone.

 

The brunette donned a fitted emerald number with cap sleeves and rippled material all the way down to the middle of her thigh.
The piece finished off with material hitting the floor, helping to create a mermaid look along with her wavy hair.

Multi-talented: The actress took to the microphone in New York to sing

Emmy’s tresses were pinned to one side with a gold leaf which came embellished with jewels that coordinated with her chunky jewel-encrusted bracelet.

She said on Instagram about the item: ‘Tonight I am wearing a vintage hair accessory I found in the French Quarter in New Orleans this summer.’
It’s no wonder she has such an impeccable sense of style. Emmy’s aunt by marriage is the fashion designer Vera Wang.

She is well known for her role as the less than elegant character, Fiona Gallagher, on the US version of the originally British programme.
But in real life Emmy can certainly scrub up well and likes to show it.
During the event sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, Emmy tweeted about how excited she was to perform tracks from her new album, released January 29.

On Thursday she left NYC, where she was born, to discover her roots and promote her new movie in Russia.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘I am so excited to be heading to Russia today to promote #BeautifulCreatures. Just under a month until it hits theaters!
‘This is my first trip to Russia. My family heritage is part Russian so I'm psyched to see where I come from. Moscow! #BeautifulCreatures.’
