The Diversity of the Chinese Cheongsam

Cheongsams has been worn by women since the early part of 1900s as it was first recorded. It was a leaner version of the Chinese long gown that prior to this bears no shape on the waist and slit on the sides. From this time in history up to now, the design has been a symbol that embodies the country China.

Wedding dress

On this modern day, one of the ways to create a classic out of a contemporary fabric for a wedding dress, is to either design a vintage or go for the oriental Cheongsam. The Chinese collar is prim for a bride to wear that is just the thing for traditional rave. The sheath silhouette of the cut is what the petite women should have to lengthen the figure and display the shape discreetly. A cheongsam wedding dress with shirr ruffles or a long train at the back will be dashing.
Options like getting a Cheongsam top and a ball skirt is going to be sensual and a shorter rendition of the design like a mini or an exaggerated hi-lo design whether in white or in color following the Cheongsam blueprint will be a celebrated wedding dress. The unique taste of the design makes it easy to incorporate to everything else because of variety and grace altogether

Bridesmaid dress

Aside from the wedding dress which is perfect for Chinese celebrations, cheongsam bridesmaid dresses are picking up in sales. The simple cut which defines the precise things that women want which is to be thin and pretty. The design, in its own unique way slashes the unlikely curves and tones down the weight in the trunk especially plus it gives length to the legs. This is the reason why it is most loved by bridesmaids because of the undemanding feature of the dress but helps a lot in promoting a slenderer form.

Special occasion dress

For special occasions, the cheongsam is being incorporated to a more sultry and glittery pattern. They are even created with fabrics that are far from the typical Chinese silk or satin. Nowadays, this beauty are seen in lace and chiffon where they are used as evening gowns and party dresses.

Well, I think this is fair enough because on the dawn of its creation, cheongsams are only used by women who are enjoying the spotlight in the olden Chinese society. It might have lost its luster because of popularity some decades ago but it has regained it though because of the recognition given by the women of the world to it. The association of the cheongsam to wedding dresses and special occasion dresses is one of the milestones in its rebirth as a style made only for the glamorous and the sought after.
