Through the keyhole: Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford sells quaint West Hollywood home for $980,000 after two years

She is going through stressful times, currently fighting a custody battle with her ex in France, but it must be a weight off Gossip Girl Kelly Rutherford's mind to have finally sold her West Hollywood home.

The 44-year-old actress bought the two bedroom, two bathroom bungalow in 2005 for $1,250,000.
The Scream 3 star listed the charming home two years ago for $1,280,000, but it failed to sell.

The West Hollywood bungalow has just sold for the reduced price of $980,000.

The Spanish-style house was built in 1926 in the classic West Hollywood bungalow style. There is hardwood flooring throughout, and a formal dining room, perfect for entertaining.
The back deck boasts a built-in barbecue and bar, and the whole area is green and leafy.

Hopefully the sale will bring some cheer to the 44-year-old star, who is having some problems in her personal life.

The Melrose Place star is fighting a battle with her German-born ex Daniel Giersch over their children Hermes, five, and Helena, three, after losing custody of them.
To complicate matters, Daniel lives in France, and is unable to return to the US as he has had his visa revoked, and so Kelly has to fly to Europe to see her children.

The blonde actress married German businessman Daniel in 2006, but left him three years later while she was pregnant with their second child and divorced him in 2010.

Her worst fear came true when Judge Theresa Beaudet said that in order to share custody, the children should live with Giersch abroad and that Kelly could visit them when she wasn’t working.
The judge gave custody to Giersch as it was her opinion that Rutherford had repeatedly tried to cut her ex-husband out their children's lives.

Rutherford, who has been required to fly overseas for visitation as a result, said to Dateline in October last year: 'Why would you take the kids away from their mother, out of their school, away from their friends and everything they've known, and plant them somewhere else?'

'It's hard to even believe it's real,' she added. 'I was on a plane three weekends a month.

'I'm being punished for being a good mother and taking care of my children, and he's being rewarded for having his visa revoked. Our kids are US citizens and they have a right to be raised in the US.

But the New York based star has vowed to appeal, saying that she has drained her earnings to pay off legal bills - and must keep working to afford the fight.
